Description

Just bought this raccoon off of Ebay a few days ago :) the quality is amazing, and he's absolutely adorable.

I was origionally going to buy a crow until I found out it was illegal, so I was just browsing Ebay afterwards, not looking for anything in particular, when I came across this raccoon by Kelly [link]

I decided to name him Bandit, which is probably the most common raccoon name ever, but oh well. Better then what I was origionally going to call him.

Anyways, I decided to take some outdoor photos to show him off, Kelly did an absolutely amazing job on him. Hope to get as good as her one day. Hard to find a good, quality mount on Ebay too. She and one or two other people are the only taxidermists I'd probably ever buy from.. everything else is horrible xD

This picture is just to show his base better.

Now, before you start flaming me for owning a fur or taxidermy piece – ASK QUESTIONS FIRST. Get to know me. Figure out how the animal was killed. I can’t tell you how many times people have accused me of killing an animal, told me that it’s wrong to kill an animal just for their fur, or have called me and/or my hobby disgusting. First of all, I have not killed a single animal in my entire life, except for maybe a few bugs. Secondly, animals are rarely killed just for their furs. Even fur farms use more than just the fur. Did you know that the meat in dog and cat foods are bi-products of fur farms? If the dog food you feed your dog has any “meat bi-product” in it, it is most likely a fox, mink, etc. And lastly, taxidermy is NOT disgusting. At all. All it is, is turning a piece of leather into something that will be admired and cherished for years to come. How is that disgusting? It’s a lot less disgusting than a rotting pile of flesh; if the animals not taxidermied, that’s how it’ll end up.

And I hold utmost respect towards ALL of my animals. All of them are handled and treated carefully and respectfully. None of them are thrown around or tossed in my closet or on the floor in a corner. They are all either hung on my wall, across a chair, or on my bed. I hold the same respect for them as I do my pets. After all, they were once living and breathing too.
