Description

Decided to stuff and turn Koda into a soft mount... I was going to just leave him as a pelt with a mounted head but I think he looks better this way.

He was made by me, and I made it so he had closed eyes instead of open like most soft mounts. Though his poses are limited due to this, it doesn't matter. Having him curled up on my bed beside my pillow is too cute to bear <3

He was sold to me over on Ebay. He was listed as a silver fox, but as soon as I received him, I knew he was just a dark cross fox. Still a gorgeous fox, and a mountable one for only around $80 is an outstanding deal.

Now, before you start flaming me for owning a fur or taxidermy piece – ASK QUESTIONS FIRST. Get to know me. Figure out how the animal was killed. I can’t tell you how many times people have accused me of killing an animal, told me that it’s wrong to kill an animal just for their fur, or have called me and/or my hobby disgusting. First of all, I have not killed a single animal in my entire life, except for maybe a few bugs. Secondly, animals are rarely killed just for their furs. Even fur farms use more than just the fur. Did you know that the meat in some dog and cat foods are bi-products of fur farms? If the dog food you feed your dog has any “meat bi-product” in it, it may be fox, mink, etc. And lastly, taxidermy is NOT disgusting. At all. All it is, is turning a piece of leather into something that will be admired and cherished for years to come. How is that disgusting? It’s a lot less disgusting than a rotting pile of flesh; if the animals not taxidermied, left as a pelt, or turned into some coat/accessory, that’s how it’ll end up.

And I hold utmost respect towards ALL of my animals. All of them are handled and treated carefully and respectfully. None of them are thrown around or tossed in my closet or on the floor in a corner. They are all either hung on my wall, across a chair, or on my bed. I hold the same respect for them as I do my pets. After all, they were once living and breathing too.
