Oreodont Skull

This is a skull from an oreodont, which is a prehistoric mammal from over 30 millions years ago. I believe they were related to camels and other ungulates.

This skull is authentic, though there has been a bit of restoration to it. For example, the canine tooth and some of the incisors were painted over as most of the enamel is gone, which explains why it isn't as bright and glossy as the real teeth. There's also a bit of restoration to the crest on the top of the skull, but otherwise everything else is real.

It wasn't cheap, of course, but for a nearly complete oreodont skull I got it for a pretty good deal.

Also got a mosasaur tooth for free along with this guy as a gift from the seller, so I'm pretty happy about that as well. I've always been fascinated by prehistoric things and have always wanted at least one fossil. Now one of my life's goals are complete. xD
