PETA - Do you know?

Description

Yes, more stamps. Hopefully this one isn't too bad...

This time it's a stamp for the lovely animal rights organization named PETA! (People for Extortion, Terror, and Abuse, that is.) :D

I'm just so tired of people blindly following this group. Those who actually do know what PETA is about and still follows them are even worse, however.

PETA is the one group that I truely hate with all of my heart. They really are a cult, I truely wish they'd just disappear. :

I know there are already two groups and plenty of stamps against this horrible organization already, but the more the merrier, right?

...

Anyways, some things about PETA:

Apparently, PETA is a group that is supposed to be helping animals, despite the fact that around 90% of all animals taken in by them end up dead. You can't tell me that all of those animals were deamed unadoptable. www.petakillsanimals.com/

PETA also tries to get their point across through ads that feature naked women, which in my opinion is very demeaning. They also try and target kids, telling them that their mothers are cruel, heartless murderers because they cook delicious turkies for thanksgiving.

They've even paid people thousands of dollars to carry out horrible acts of terrorism. One example is that they've paid arsonists to burn down testing facilites. I don't care how much you're against animal testing, that just isn't right.

In short: I'm sorry, but they're insane.

Here's some more info on them, though a simple google search should flood you with plenty of articles as well.

Also, for those who don't know the difference between an animal welfare group and an Animal RIGHTS group like PETA and the HSUS:

Animal Rights:
To end all human "exploitation" of animals -this includes, but is not limited to, raising and slaughtering of livestock for human or animal consumption, eating meat, hunting, using animals for any medical or veterinary research, zoos (regardless of how well managed), circuses, rodeos, horse shows, dog shows, animals performing in TV commercials, shows or movies (regardless of how well treated any of the above are), guide-dogs for the blind, police dogs, search & rescue dogs, and the practice of owning pets.

Animal Welfare:
To prevent suffering and cruelty to animals, and to provide care and good homes for pets in need. This often includes, but is not limited to, the funding and running of animal shelters (to provide a sanctuary for abandoned, abused, homeless, or unwanted pets, and to place them in good homes where possible, provide painless euthanasia for those that cannot be adopted, and to educate the public about the need for spaying/neutering their pets to prevent more surplus animals ending up in shelters), enforcement of anti-cruelty statutes (where their authority permits), initiating, lobbying for, and monitoring enforcement of legislation to ensure more humane standards of care for livestock, laboratory animals, performing animals, and pets.

..Personally, I'm for animal WELFARE, not rights, as I do care about animals and want them to be treated properly, but I just can't imagine a life without my pets. Not to mention, those who physically need meat shouldn't be denied it, especially when it is only natural for us as omnivores. I realize a lot of people can be vegetarians, and that's great, but not all us can... and forcing everyone to be like you is actually denying us our own rights in favor of animals'.
