When it comes to animal rights, I do not support, however, I agree that the following should be stopped:
Animal testing for human products, Circuses, Animals used for entertainment in general like bear dancing and bull fighting, rodeos, etc)
My opinion on meats? The animals shouldn't be fed drugs nor treated cruelly, but that's it really.
I support not owning non-domesticated animals as pets. I fucking hate that
About animal welfare-
I hate it when animals have to be killed when they aren't adopted, I wish there was more opportunity for them...But I guess it can't be helped, and another note on pets- Don't hand them out like toys, have actual inspections and etc. I hate it when I turn on the news just to hear another story of an animal hoarder/abuser that targets his/her own pet.
(This isn't against you. ) I strongly support PETA to a point. They do support welfare of all animals you know? I like that side of them. Not everyone associated w/ PETA is about the Animal Rights. I feel they've been doing good in some cases, like the industrial slaughter industry, Horse Slaughter industry (which goes along with rodeos and horse racing, which I boycott all together.) and the massive diary factory industry (which is linked to veal. *Calf meat* for those who don't know what Veal is.)
I think it's a little silly to say to not kill bugs and to free your animals but I do feel any animal has as much of a right to live as I do. I don't like meat, I buy free ranged chicken most of the time. Beef doesn't work well with me and pork is too salty at times. I haven't had pork in a long time. In short, I'm 5/10 on PETA, I like them but I hate them. We should have an understanding that we too are animals and we are no better, in fact I think we are the pests upon the world considering the fact that humans are the ones causing more damage to the environment than anything else.
If I'm correct, they've kinda got a hold on themselves. They've began to be more realistic in terms of proper Animal Welfare. I dunno, I don't think it's right to hate PETA all together because some parts of the association has brains and actually use it. But we'll never learn to respect animals, we're too ignorant to understand it's not fair at times what we do. And yes, I'm a supporter of Animal Welfare. That was long.....
Sure, I support Welfare. But that doesn't mean I have to support PETA at all. Just because I may have a few things in common with them beliefs wise doesn't negate the fact they're a hypocritical organization as a whole that gets no support from me. None. I mean, why give them money or support just because they might have done a few good things? When there are many more /bad/ things they've done? When even though they have good motives they go about it all wrong?
I'd much rather support organizations that aren't so shady, hypocritical and insane. Organizations that are, for the most part, all good. That have good motives /and/ tactics. Organizations like local run shelters for example... Even the ASPCA isn't that bad. But PETA or the HSUS? Well, you already know what I have to say about them.
And when the founder of an organization wants her flesh eaten when she dies and wants domestic animals to disappear, well, it's hard to deny that the whole organization is corrupt. When the organization is founded on insanity and is fueled by a crazy founder, I think it's perfectly ok to hate the whole organization, regardless of the few "good" followers.
